When I first started this blog, I decided to post "weekly motivation" quote posts on Wednesdays to give everyone a little something to help them get through their week. As we are all going through this difficult time together and most of us are working from home and doing online school, we now need this motivation more than ever. Here are some tips to help you stay motivated, organized, and most importantly positive during this time!

1. Positive Quotes/Daily Affirmations

One of my favorite things to do to brighten and lift up my mood is to read motivational and positive quotes. You can easily find these on Pinterest, which is where I get most of the quotes from that I use in my posts. Just reading a simple quote like, "Brighter days are ahead" can give you the motivation you need to get through your day in order to get things done. Another way to lift your mood is to read/say daily affirmations. These are simple, yet positive statements that declare goals in your life. For example, "I am in charge of how I feel today and today I am choosing happiness". You can even start a journal and write a few of these down each day. Just stating these affirmations can give you goals to look forward to.

2. To-Do Lists

To-Do lists are one of my favorite ways to keep organized and get everything in order. Shifting to online school and work has been a big adjustment. In the workplace and school settings, it is easy to keep on task and get things done. Being at home can be distracting for some and difficult to stay motivated to get work done. To-do lists lay out in front of you what needs to be done so you can keep track of your work and make sure you aren't missing anything. I like to use a digital to-do list which is the "Stickies" application on my laptop. In the past I've also enjoyed writing out to-do lists in a planner or notebook.

3. Check Up on Your Friends

During difficult times like these, some people hide how they're really feeling in order to keep strong for others around them. Bottling up these emotions over time can become super stressful and overwhelming for some. Checking up on your friends and asking them how they're doing is important. It lets them know that you care and are here for them. Even just a text checking up on them can make a difference! I like to Facetime my friends because even though we can't talk and hangout in person, it's nice to see their face and hear their voice.

4. Take Time for Yourself

Even though it's important to check up on our friends, it is also extremely important to take time for ourselves. Trying to get all of our work done and plan out what needs to be done and when can become super overwhelming. Taking a break is completely acceptable at this time! We are all going through these hard times together and it's understandable if you need to take a breather and focus on yourself for a little. I like to watch a show on Netflix, do a home workout, or watch some of my favorite Youtubers.

This time has been very difficult and stressful on so many people. Focusing on staying motivated and not letting this get you down is so important. We're all in this together and we're going to get through it. I hope you decide to try out some of these tips because they've helped me so much! Stay healthy and safe! Thanks for stopping by and keep an eye out for another blog post coming very soon!
